Talking Heads was an American new wave band and one of the most critically acclaimed bands of the 1980s. With hits such as "Burning Down the House", "Psycho Killer", "Once in a Lifetime" and "And She Was", Talking Heads was considered one of the pioneers of the new wave genre. Their 1984 concert film "Stop Making Sense" dir. Jonathan Demme is widely considered the greatest concert film of all time. The band was composed of singer/guitarist and frontman David Byrne, bassist Tina Weymouth, drummer Chris Frantz and guitarist/keyboardist Jerry Harrison.
Talking Heads is also one of my favorite bands. They can be a little hit-or-miss for most people, but if you're interested you should maybe read some more of my thoughts here. And uhhh hmmm what else? My favorite record of theirs is 'Fear of Music' and my favorite song...uhm that's too hard. But my top three are 'Houses in Motion', '[Nothing But] Flowers' and 'Drugs'. My favorite live performance is probably their SNL 'Take Me to the River' from 1979.
