TOS
Ohhhh....Star Trek...where to begin where to begin. What a behemoth of a show. Years of 50s and 60s television viewing could never have prepared me for my full TOS watchthough a while back. I forgot how good/bad this show was. They were trying soooo hard and you can tell. Every time I watch a TOS episode I experience the entire breadth of human emotion all at once. The earnestness of it all....AAAAAAH. What the hell. To me watching TOS is more about the sociopolitical implications than it is about the entertainment, which is an IDEAL thing for me to nerd out about I LOVE being hit over the head with messaging until I pass out. Also connecting emotionally with older media just makes me tear up a littttlle. Anyways. Favorite character has got to be Dr. Mccoy....I do love a Nietzschean Dionysian it can be said. The whole situation going on with those archetypes is quite frankly immaculate. WHEN the author bothers to include it. God I do love me a character dynamic rooted in philosophy. And forgive me for essentially listing the whole show out in my favorite episodes. I liek them all <3

I'll be honest,, I have not seen much TNG in a while. I've seen almost all of it(?) but it was when I was a kid so I don't remember it very well. I've been rewatching it when I can, but my memory overall is pretty spotty compared to the crazy amount of brainspace dedicated to the other treks I've seen. It definitely holds a special place in my heart though! My favorite character has got to be Worf (the Klingon episodes were always my favorites growing up, because obviously) but I'm also a big Dr. Pulaski fan. So sad they got rid of her...she was awesome...I know she's incredibly unpopular but they should've at least brought her back for a cameo. Sighsss. Whatever I guess. Kicks a rock.

DS9
Ok well. Deep Space 9 is just a really good show. Like it's kind of a nothing to me because it's just so good. I like my tv shows with a little flavor aka being kinda bad. But DS9 is not that. For the most part. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are some pretty bad episodes. But even those aren't that horrible. So you see. While I was watching DS9 I was borderline hysterical about how good it was (which is what a really good tv show does to you) but afterwards it just kinda fled my mind. What really gets me going is something like VOY where I KNOW I could fix it but I can't. That's how they getcha. But yeah DS9 is amazing of course of course...it is home to the best Star Trek ethical dilemma (Children of Time) HUSH there will be no argument on this. My favorite character is Kiraaaaa (yayy for Kira) but I do love all of them with my whole entire heart. Especially Sisko and EZRI DAX GOD I LOVE EZRI DAX. This is what I get worked up about obviously because she is terrribllyyyy written but with a nigh perfect concept. Ezri my perfect woman. I would do so much for her. She should've been more messy and terrible methinks like she should've killed that guy. And more people as well she deserved to. As for side characters...big Nog fan as well but who isn't. If we're being honest. And obligatory Weyoun shoutout 'cause c'mon. Love that little rascal.

VOY
I have NOT finished Voyager (I'm on the final season) but it has annexed my mind palace for months now. When will the suffering end. I'm so into it I do have to go weeks at a time without actually watching it because I'm just too unwell about it. Mental health breaks essentially. Voyager is sooooo good but it is also NOT. Do NOT be fooled. I know most trekkies just think of it as a mediocre spinoff but it's anyyything but. What a wild ride. The problem is it's much too easy to create a sort of platonic ideal of Voyager in your head that is the best television you've ever seen and then time and time again watch them shoot their own foot in writing decisions. It's like watching someone scribble all over a beautiful painting like it physically hurts me to watch. But I also dooooo really enjoy it because I am the Haver of Bad Taste. So it's a complicated relationship we've got going on me and Voyager. Favorite character. Oh god. Captain Kathryn Janeway the things I'd do. Honestly she might be the saving grace of the whole show. The SUBTLETY the PAIN the REPRESSION. THIS is what I want from my Star Trek captains. I'm stopping myself here because I couuuld go onnnn and I would. Yesss....I am also a Kes lover. Me and women who no one likes and are booted off the show or only appear for one season,,truly a match made in heaven (pulaski ezri and kes). She and Janeway should've lezzed out. This is my truth. Unfortunately it's just me and Roger Kaufman against the world on this one (come with me...let's read 'Evocations and Evasions of Archetypal Lesbian Love in Star Trek: Voyager' together....). Ok and Tuvok is a favorite of mine as well. And Chakotay. And Harry Kim. And B'Elanna. and Seven of Nine. I love all these guys honestly minus Tom Paris I could not care less about him. SIGHS that's all.
