You think you're the good guy, don't you Kel? And I'm the big, bad bully... here to terrorize poor, defenseless Basil. You're the one hanging out with the psychopath who carries around a knife!
~ Aubrey to Kel and Sunny before her fight in the church.
Where were you when Mari died? WHERE WERE ANY OF YOU!?
~ Aubrey to Kel, Sunny, and Basil at the hangout spot.

Aubrey is one of the tritagonists of the Omori franchise.

She is a cynical criminal who was Sunny's former friend, who went from a happy child to a violent and aggressive teenager after Mari's death, with her group of friends falling apart and her parents neglecting her, leaving her with no one to turn to. support until she fell in with the Hooligans. This made her the leader of them, a gang of teenagers in Faraway Town. While initially cold to her old friends and a bully to Basil, she later reconciles with them, where she finally admits that she still cares about her old friends and decides to apologize to him for the way she treated him.

Appearance[]

Aubrey is a teenager with dyed pink hair, a green bow, blue shorts, and a white jacket with a black crop top beneath, and usually carries around a baseball bat with nails nailed into it. In Headspace, she has black hair, a pink bow, and a long green dress, reflecting how she used to look when she was younger.

Personality[]

During her youngest years, Aubrey is a jolly girl and likes playing with her friends. She is determined, true to feelings, and acts as increments of morale in the group of friends. This refers to the frequent remind of what is right whenever they are distracted. Even with this, he is a sensitive fellow who cries and worries a lot; she was the most worried amongst her circle of friends when Basil goes missing. She keeps fumbling about—this can be related to Kel's scream, with which she's always quarreling. She shares her childhood characteristics with her Headspace counterpart, but these are a bit grudge-shifted because of her puppy love for OMORI.

In the Real World, upon knowing that Mari was dead, she started dealing with powerful emotions of hatred towards a group of her old friends by interpreting their reactions when they moved on too quickly. She was burdened by the sense of loneliness due to her best friend's death and having no support between her and her friends. She turned into a hot-tempered and violent one who made these fits of anger on others, like Basil, with the help of the Hooligans. She becomes cold and hostile to her old friends, not hesitating to fight them. However, he still seeks peace by praying in the local church and visits Mari's grave almost all the time. It is only when she rejoined the group of Sunny, Kel, and Hero that she begins to understand people's pasts and feels for the first time. She becomes civil and open about her feelings as the series progresses, showing care for SUNNY's physical health and apologizes to Basil. According to the text, as the sleepover progressed, despite not being able to admit that she cared, she showed betrayal in her actions, testifying that she indeed cared for all her friends. Though many times pretty hard to understand in the story, Aubrey finally tries to do the right thing possible at the end of the game by deciding to atone for the past mistakes.

Biography[]

Past[]

Before the events of Omori, Aubrey would become friends with Sunny, Kel, Hero, and Mari, and would later introduce Basil to them. The six would become very good friends, up until Mari died. Aubrey, believing that her friends had just moved on from Mari's death and didn't care, would become angry, dying her hair pink to reflect her plans to dye her hair alongside Mari and becoming friends with Kim and the Hooligans, and eventually becoming their leader.

During one day, after Sunny had stopped going to school, she would later ask Basil if he wanted to study with her, leading to her discovering that the photos inside of his photo album were blacked out with marker, an act done by Sunny, not Basil. Believing that Basil was the one who had blacked out the photos, she would steal the photo album and become furious at Basil, and would begin to harass him along with the other members of the Hooligans.

In Headspace[]

In Omori's Headspace, Aubrey acts as the second party member, and is caring towards the group. She is worried when Basil goes missing, but like the other party members, she slowly forgets about him over the course of the game.

In Faraway Town[]

During the first day, where Kel and Sunny are hanging out with each other, they spot Basil, being harassed by Aubrey. Kel and Sunny would try to help Basil, but soon Aubrey would pick a fight with both of them. However, during this fight, Sunny would use his knife to attack Aubrey, causing her and the rest of the Hooligans to leave the area.

After Basil informed Sunny and Kel about what had happened to his photo album, Kel and Sunny would ask the other members of the Hooligans where Aubrey had gone, with Kim, a member close to Aubrey, eventually telling both of them that Aubrey was at the church. When Kel and Sunny went to the church, they would argue with her, eventually leading to both of them fighting her again inside of the church. After the fight, Aubrey would return to her home, throwing the photo album in the trash but keeping the photos of Mari due to them being "the only thing left of her".

During the second day, Aubrey was found in the old hangout spot of her and her friends, telling Basil to leave. When Sunny and Kel got there, she would fight the two of them with the entire gang of Hooligans. After the fight, the other Hooligans would leave the area, leaving Aubrey, Sunny, Kel, and Basil alone. Aubrey would express how she was furious at everyone for not being there after Mari had died, and would push Basil into the lake. Sunny would dive in and attempt to save him but fail, leading to Hero arriving and saving both of them. After making sure Basil was okay, Hero, along with Kel and Sunny, would take Basil back to his house, leaving Aubrey alone.

During the third day, the rest of the Hooligans are gathered outside of Aubrey's house, as she wouldn't leave it. This would lead to Sunny, Kel, and Hero walking inside, and going into Aubrey's room. Hero would talk to Aubrey, and allow her to realize the fault of her actions and apologize for them. She would later travel with Sunny, Kel, and Hero to Basil's house to make sure he was okay, where she would apologize for the way she had treated him.

After Basil and Sunny's fight, Aubrey would accompany Hero and Kel in making sure that Basil and Sunny were okay, and when Sunny had arrived in Basil's hospital room, he would tell them the truth of how Mari died. None of their reactions are known.
