SNOW MIKU 2025

OK OK SO. (queso?) she absolutely wasn't my first choice, but i'm surprised at how much i like the official drawing? The prompt for this year "Glittering Snow Decoration" was very vague, especially compared to past prompts...so it kind of felt like a free for all in terms of the designs submitted. Because of this, I would have preferred something with an external theme that wasn't related to the official one (or maybe expanded on it in a different direction) just for some variety, but I think this miku is going to look great as a nenderoid! I think it would be cool (haha) if she was blushier, seeing how everything about her except her skin is close to monotone. Rabbit Yukine's design is unexciting, as it is in most cases. Pertaining to the actual outfit - she's underdressed for winter of course, not that I mind that...the theming of this piece is very confusing to me. She has pearls (ocean) in her hair and costume, and the small pearls on the bottom of her twintails make them resemble water (whirlpools?), but the snowflakes are more classicially winter (I don't appreciate how they're filled in either), the crystal in her hair is a bit off topic if they were going for "snowy ocean/water", the staff makes me think magical girl, and the whole thing (especially the shoes, garter, and hair frill) feels formal if not for the skirt length and mismatched socks. It's pleasing to look at overall, but what was the overall theme here??? I blame crypton for choosing such a vague prompt. As of when this was created, the song hasn't been released yet. My speculation is...I dunno... but anyways. here are some more designs i liked from this year and some ramblings about them!
